One of the first things new home owners typically consider is how to protect their family from harm if they ever experienced a break in. The stat’s don’t lie; according to the FBI, 1 in 36 homes are robbed here in the United States each year. After buying a house of my own and thinking hard about my options, I compiled a list of the top 5 home defense weapons that can be utilized in the unfortunate event that I experienced a break in.
Keep in mind, I’m not a legal expert, so I recommend that you verify the defensive methods legal in your area before deploying these tools.
God bless and stay safe.

Shotgun also makes a great contact/club style weapon if you train for it…
You left a Dog off of the best they are they best for Home Defense.
Great info an congratulations on the new additions to your family.
Suggestion. If you're going to use a knife for home protection use a big-ass kitchen knife instead of a small folding pocket knife.
Hey bro you did a good job in this video. I enjoyed it and thought it was very informative. I a security professional myself I liked the weapons your showed and also you made things practical within the legal limits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice video! Like & Sub
Get a good dog and follow the dog with your weapon of choice.
Ok John Legend
Gun and self defense laws in Canada where I live are stupid. It basically favours the criminal over the innocent. The law basically says you have to match the force of the invader or intruder. So you have to essentially find out if the invader is armed before you can even think about killing them. By that time it will likely be too late. So in canada if you shoot and kill an invader you're most likely going to jail for murder. If you use a baseball and the guy dies, you're going to jail for murder. Simply put, we have no right to self defense in canada and it's stupid.
But great video by the way. It was really informative and cool 😎
Best home defense hands down is the Cyberdyne Systems Model 101 or the T-800. They're a bit pricey but you'll save thousands in ammo and security monitoring fees!
You make some very good points here. There are however a few things that are worth mentioning. First of all, most pistol rounds, as well as 12 ga. rounds have been shown to over penetrate just as much drywall as 5.56. There is plenty of data that sup[ports this, including law enforcement data. You are correct that depending on your ammo selection, shotgun ammo can be less likely to over penetrate than bot a pistol or 5.56, however the ammo that fits into this category it pretty much limited to bean bags and bird shot. Though bird shot can be somewhat effective at very close range, even ad medium range, it's lost its effectiveness. There are even videos on YouTube comparing pistols, 5.56 and shotguns for over penetration. If you have a brick exterior to your home and you're concerned about rounds exiting the home, 5.56 is the least likely to exit, and 12 ga. ammo, with the exception of non lethal or bird shot is the most likely to exit.
Unfortunately, these days many threats are more likely to wear body armor. That being said, XM 193 (55 grain standard 5,56 ammo) is your best bet at defeating the threat, all the while being the least likely to exit through a brick or cinder block exterior wall.
Truth is, there is no perfect selection. What's most important is to be prepared with whatever you can legally posses, and train with whatever you're most likely to use in a defensive situation. Any firearm is better than any blunt object or knife when confronting an armed threat.
Let me just finish by saying, I really enjoyed your video, and again you made some very good points. I just wanted to clear up some very common misconceptions.
Thanks for sharing.
Oh by the way, congratulations on the twins. Please keep us posted with their progress.
Congratulations in the babies.
For a semi-auto rife/pistol/carbine choosing the proper ammo can mitigate over penetration where rounds may go through an exterior wall and wind-up in your neighbor's home or hitting someone outside. Also depending on your home situation the location of your neighbor's home should also be considered. Those that live in apartments should consider using a shotgun/pistol/carbine with the right ammunition
Nice job on the video!
