Titles read: ‘The Weaker Sex! (Sayest Thou!) Who said “weaker sex?” MISS MAY WHITLEY (not to mention her “bandit” friend CHARLES CAWKELL) from the Trocadero Restaurant, London, show otherwise.’
Pathe Studio, London.
An attractive young woman, May Whitley, explains the aim of jujitsu being to throw your partner off balance. Her partner, Charles Cawkell, comes towards May as if to attack her or steal her purse and she throws him on the ground several times.
May then talks us through each throw, explaining how we can do them too. After the final throw she takes out her compact and powders her face.
Intertitle reads: ‘Slow motion demonstrates exactly how 7-stone-odd, scientifically applied, can defeat 14 stone.’
Great slow motion shots of the throws follow with sound effects!
Note: May Whitley seems to be Eurasian or partly oriental.
