Frankly if they were going to test how useful this is they should've had her wear a helmet to allow for counters. it's easy for the attacker to rack up hits when the target can only defend. If there no threat of counter strikes then the attacker can be as aggressive as a gamer whose using a cheat code. The idea is to get it as realistic as possible while maintaining safety
I would prefer a traditional 'Tsuba' style guard to protect fingers and hand, which is something I have meant to add to my 26" ASP air weights for years, other wise you are forced into 'Yagyu' style defenses…
I'm confused. A South Korean flag displayed but the writing and speaking seem to be in Japanese. Are these two Japanese folks with a dojo in South Korea?
FINALLY, the REAL way to use a tool whether knife or baton. All that flowery nonsense from the Philippines or all that nonsense about locking arms or doing takedowns is absolute bullshit. THIS is how to fight – short, direct strokes and attack, attack, attack. Keep your opponent backing up and off balance. AND HIT OR CUT THEIR HAND. Anyone who has done Kendo knows that the experienced fighters will smack the "sword" out of a beginner's hand with hand, wrist and arm strikes. If your opponent can't hold their weapons then they can't use their weapon.
Musashi would have loved extendable batons the man beat someone to death in a duel with an oar of course he would have done well with out extra disrespect to his opponent when he pulls out an extendable stick to beat them with
I ordered this one, but it´s problematic. Same as in the video, it folds during use. There should be a mechanism which arrests it extended, but this mechanism is very faulty. It also sometimes arrests when extented and then you can´t fold it anymore. Unfortunately, the place I ordered it from sent no information how to contact then, not even an adress, so I kind of feel ripped of. Moreso, the add I saw showed a longer version which could have also worked as a cane for wandering. Which it is not.
Why, having a longer stick, are you standing at knife distance? Why don't you attack? Why are you giving in? It is clearly visible that you are simply standing and holding your hand so that it is convenient for her to hit you. One blow with a stick on the exposed leg would have ended this stupid fight.
Useless video. You must use the baton against the hand that has the knife. Obviously use the baton like a shield is pointless. You can a great combo hitting the hand and the face in same movement. Sadly a katana user cannot show the true power of the baton without proper training.
The fact that he is guarding against a knife when he has a weapon thats 3-4 times the length of it is puzzling, the whole point of having a longer weapon is to keep range and attack from where the attacker cannot reach.
Attacking without fear of a counter allowed her to make attacks she couldn't otherwise make without sacrificing her own defense. I understand the point was to show how the guard allowed for several more blocks/deflections than the unguarded baton. It's improbable that someone with a knife would see the person with a baton and continue the fight. The double baton and kendo swords… well in Japan it'd make sense but not in Texas. 🥷🦯🔫🤠

Brand? Where to buy?
Странные японцы какие-то. На тебя идет человек с ножом и ты не можешь его бить палкой по голове/рукам/корпусу? Зачем тогда тебе палка?
Nice video. I think the guard would be better if it was larger. Longer cross guards are more useful as a defensive feature.

Where can you buy one?
Apa ada pemukul yang lbh panjang dari seri itu?
Where can i order?
Well… A baton isn't a shield is it? You're better off just swinging at the knife attacker if they get close. Make the baton their problem.

😢 ese bastón debería más usarse como lanza para mantener a distancia la persona que tenga un cuchillo en vez de usarlo como espada😊
