In this video, John is a defensive tactic instructor at Unity One, Inc. Training Academy. The trainer will be teaching a class on how to become a security guard in Las Vegas, Nevada. Unity One, Inc. is one of the top security guard companies in its industry and they do all they can to train their officers with proper defensive takedown tactics.
In the training today, the students will learn how to safely take a criminal down. The technique is called the push/pull method. This is a simple move requiring two moves to redirect forces to get the individual safely into a handcuffing position. This will reduce the amount of impact on the security guard patrol and the person they are disarming.
For weeks, the students have been trained in basic defensive techniques that are in compliance with security service companies in Las Vegas. In today’s class, they are learning to add easy takedown methods to disarm a criminal much easier. The instructor notes that an action is much faster than a reaction. So if someone has a gun pointed right at you, it is best to act right away. First, put your hands up because you will use it to defend yourself. Then, the students learn a wrist technique that gets the criminal down into a strategic position. A strategic position is the ideal position to be in where you have full control over the situation and who you are disarming. Viewers will get a chance to see the students practice on each other and hear John give feedback on their performance.
As one of the best security agency in Las Vegas believe in putting safety first. Many of their trainers in the academy have previous experience serving in the armed guard services and in security guard services. Based on their experience in security, they are able to teach students safe technique. Students who aspire to become security officer learn methods that do not involve striking, but rather keep them in control by redirecting the force. Unity One, Inc. also trains their students in private security and offer training in national security guard.

love this technique, haven't seen it in a few years last time i did was in karate class when i was studying ishinru karate.
Good video makes me want to practice I feel like the girl in the glasses needed to move her left leg forward while doing the move she kept doing the right leg
I am actually shocked at the amount of people on here that think this crap would really work. Good way to get yourself killed.
I used to work for this company very terrible company not good to work for
There displaying this like the guy with the gun is just gonna let you take the gun out his hand, what would happen more realistically is he would pull back on the gun turn it around and shoot you anyways lmao
Ill practice this with a training partner & a blank gun after practice with the dummy gun. It's necessary to hear the sound of the gun shot & be ready for it
😂 😂 😂
A lot of people went to hell after having tried that….
Thank You! More training for security, the Better. Gives us more options. Reduce risk of using deadly force and liability goes with that.
🤨🤔
you goofy ass's really shitted on his lesson. the man is trying to teach you to protect yourself and your making it a joke. Really dislike the child's play. But the moves are great thanks for the technique and tips
nyc one…. on the watch
Where is this located ?
DISTANCE IS YOUR BEST FRIEND… YOUR CHANCES OF GETTING SHOT UP CLOSE IN PERSON ARE GREATER THAN GETTING SHOT AT A DISTANCE.
If I see a gun, he can have the item or building, I aint dying over that
Please don't listen to this dumb @$$ lmao !!
thats wrong way grab gun he can easily open fire hit ur shoulder buddy
Great tutorial
The girls with the glasses man.. dont laugh while youre training about life threating decisions.
So what if they are dealing with a Trained civil? I don't think this techniques will work. So please Inform them that this technique is not a go to…
You dead as soon as you move. In reality you can't Bruce Lee yourself out of a situation like this lol.
Doing self defense is amazing always
Teaching defence tactics is always a nightmare.
Lost me at the gun disarming……
my son Damien was brutally murdered on a warm lazy July a.m in front of the city of Boston shelter, all because he got up and told this man who was yelling racial and chauvinistic slurs at the staff, the man punched my son and wouldn't let him get back up, stabbing him in the neck, Damien got up and that's when the killer advanced on him thank you for these techniques and may I know if there's a way I can take classes from you and receive a certificate online? I want to build my resume as I've worked at eight different Boston area venues including Fenway park, TD garden, Newport boat show, Xfinity. center, Gillette stadium, holy Cross football arena Boston University and House of Blues.
each venue carries its own security concerns and I'm trying to organize my thoughts so I can be more than just a 'warm body."…. of course in this job since you don't require any type of experience, we are expected to simply stay where we are told to be and do what we're told, but since there's so much time standing I like to think about different ways to assess different security risks (like looking out into the crowd at Gillette stadium from the second row, what should I be looking for? is there some kind of training for how to identify a risk or anything to learn that would help me and the venue to have a better and safer experience?
Trained security guards receive instruction to help them identify risks, recognize emerging threats and volatile situations, and effectively prevent incidents before they become major problem
I have no idea why ANYONE would give this video a thumbs down.
Awesome!
Much respect
Security Guards & Bouncers can be overly aggressive at times, sometimes specific folks can be dangerous to Bouncers and Security Guards – https://youtu.be/ZXK-T22ei-A
Unfortunately, in this day and age pistol whipping your assailant after taking their weapon would be excessive use of force, even though they would totally deserve it.
Все намного проще. Это сложно. И не эффективно. Не работает.
