While not up to my standard for energy from a 10mm, I wouldn’t have any issue using either of these for two legged threats. Especially for the cost. Both would more than get the job done. IMHO anything that expands and penetrates reliably and has 500+ ft-lbs of energy, is good for 2 legged animals.
If we are talking about bears, which is a very very unlikely scenario, I wouldn’t have any issue dumping a magazine of this in it. Sure Buffalo Bore hard cast or equivalent would be ideal, but let’s be real. A bear taking 16 rounds of this to the face isn’t a threat any longer
I wonder if the old powder changed it’s characteristics- I know Taufledermaus says old powder can get weaker or more potent over time…
🇦🇺😎👍Wonderbar🏁
Even a weaker 10mm usually performs ok since there is so much power potential. Not my first choice but I'd be ok with these.
Some of that older hollow point technology doesnt seem so bad 🤔
Looks like a good 40 cal round .
Have you ever test Winchester defender PDX. It's always highly recommend but expensive.
Great review, as always! 👍👍
Way back in '91 when I was in a police academy, we had one guy with a Colt Delta Elite shooting those Silvertips. We loved doing night qualification with him on the lin because his muzzle flash lit the whole range up! 😂
I got unsubscribed somehow.
Love/Hate caliber? It's more akin Like/hatehatehatehatehatehatehatehaterantrantrantrantrantranthatehatehatehaterantranthateranthateranthaterant, Now that we got that done with y'all, let's test these watered down, shameful underachiever's and then we'll lament the fact that most 10mm. sucks today. I just don't understand, y'all. You know how I feel 'bout these underpowered light loafer, ballet dancer, dress wearing 10mm.
Lol. Thanks for the video.
With the lower velocities of these rounds, was wondering if they're any better than 40 S&W.
For a defensive round, that is intended to be used against 2 legged animals and not hairy bears, both old and new performed perfectly! A 21 oz framer and 5 oz tac are both hammers, just used for different tasks. Keep up the outstanding work! Love your videos and content! Thank you!
The old lead vs. the new lead…the new lead is the 'Woke' formula. Also, notice the skull cloud at the end of the video.
Excelente vídeo. Ótimos teste 👏
👍
Really good information and testing between the old and new. Pretty consistent through the years. The 10mm rant was good buddy. Thanks for sharing nice ending lol 😂. Be safe. 🇺🇸🇺🇸⭐️🇺🇸🇺🇸
I agree about the power levels of commercial 10mm ammo 100%! But with that said, I think this is a perfectly acceptable defensive round based on the fact that it's better than average, performs excellent and is far more affordable than either premium/ full power ammo and in most cases outperforms far more expensive premium ammo that is loaded to .40 Short and Weak velocities.
Hey tools, I know you want it but maybe it doesn't just have to be loaded so hot. 🤔
They work an do what there supposed to do, but meh, better stuff out there. Thx for the vid TT
😎👊
It is interesting to see how the same ammo can vary in performance based on when it was manufactured. Plus, the more you test 10mm, the more weak sauce rounds are revealed.
I miss the old super X stuff. Why don’t know Just cause I recon😊
They pleasantly surprised me
Great test. I think they both performed pretty good. thanks my friend.
Another great video!✌️
First of all, great video as usual buddy. You have really stepped up your game with since starting out. And you have the best scenery of any guntuber. I know I'm probably pointing out something fairly obvious, but this is what I believe that you need in SD ammo. The performance was stellar, in my opinion. This compares with good .357 mag round. I understand that like the .357mag, 10mm is capable of doing more, but a much hotter load in a SD scenario could and likely would cause over-pentration with resulting dangers. Personally, I'm definitely impressed with Silvertips in every test I've seen. Thanks and have a great day.
Thank you for braving the heat good shooting.
Once again they did well in the gel but not up to par with actual 10mm specs. I see nothing wrong with your rants on 10 mil. Lol. They have merit and are factual so rant on my friend 😅. Good stuff as always 👍🇺🇸
I prefer the added penetration of the old model. It still expanded very well and additonal penetration is what the 10mm was created to do.
As is usual from you, an excellent test with no holds barred. Agreed, this ' 10mm ' is essentially not as 10mm was originally designed to perform, and is essentially .40 S&W in a longer case. Thank you for this test and your honesty; in this time of political correctness, that quality is becoming difficult to find. Cheers, mate!
