Can't wait to get mine from you; I can't wait to get some kind of exercise in, I've been battling cancer for almost 3 years and I've always wanted to practice with a staff I have a Chinese white wax I just got that I have to practice with I need to cut it the size first this will be perfect because I have to use a walking cane right now anyway
You can just buy a curtain rod.
WEAPON! Law enforcement can't wait to put you behind bars carrying a weapon around like this! Bikers will be waiting for you!
Payment sent for staff
Honestly what's the difference between this and the Jo
Matt , never know about thins any more for sure . So how can I become a gray man while using my Cane Masters cane ?
ANY situation?? Like a cattle stampede? 😁
We live in an odd world. You might think Bruen means you can carry around a spear without a permit, so no problem if you put a point on your walking stick. But legislatures, prosecutors, judges, and juries may not think that way. Put a point on your walking stick–especially if you diligently train with it as a staff–you may invite a prosecutor to argue that you were the aggressor, not just defending yourself. Yes, you may face the same argument if you carry a firearm or knife. But if you are in a jurisdiction that requires you to have a permit to possess or carry any "weapon," and you don't have a permit for your "spear," that could cause you trouble. Yes, a walking stick is really a malicious club to some people. You have to know the law in your area. Yes, that may be a pain. But just like we want to minimize our vulnerability on the street, we want to minimize our vulnerability before the law. Something to think about.
So, do I have to permit my cane . . .?
I've done a lot of medieval sword fighting and we practiced with wooden swords. We sealed the wood with Linseed oil.. you need to apply that on the surface and let it absorb and then wipe that off in a timely manner else it will make a sticky layer. If you were to soak wood in it, I doubt you will get interesting results although the wood should be real heavy…
Butcher's block oil sounds like a genius idea as it will not dry on the surface ANDl prevent bacteria, therefore, bad odors. It will need to be re-applied on a somewhat regular basis forever, though. My cutting board does seem to need less frequent applications over time.
Why sand the end when the rougher end scratches. Better to install pointed nail ends
Great video Matt to show the people how It's made I made quite a few sticks with special ochi features in everyone 😅😮😂😂😂the last three I made were from old hardwood skids now if you have a table saw I have used broomsticks shovel handles whatever kind of stick you can get your hands on 🔧
Ask for a rasp or surform.
Great instructions on how to make your own self defense stick. I have a 47 inch hickers staff that I use occasionally , compass on it's top.! I also love sticks : Escrima, Bo Staff, Nunchaku and the like . I don't have the space or area to do any kind of wood work , but I certainly like the instructions you demonstrate and I love to learn. Thanks Sensei .!
